Popular Nigerian DJ cum singer, Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed her greatest fear about music in Nigeria.
According to the billionaire’s daughter, it’s scary releasing songs in Nigeria, describing the country’s music audience as being critical.
DJ Cuppy had earlier released her debut album ‘Original Cuppy‘, enlisting prominent singers like Rema and Fireboy.
In a chat with Apple Music, the video to which was shared via her Twitter page on Thursday, Cuppy noted that there’s often the comparison of her likes to globally recognised Nigerian stars.
In May, the US music and video streaming service had announced her as host of its first-ever radio show in Africa.
“Nigeria can be a peaceful place but it’s also quite highly critical. When you have people like Wizkid, BurnaBoy, Davido, and some of the top artistes internationally, it’s kind of scary,” the vocalist said.
“You know when trying to put yourself out there. But I don’t care what happens from now. The album is out and my story is out there. It’s all about me. That’s why it’s called original Cuppy.”
