Burna Boy clarified the reason for his career switch from Football to Music.

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, known widely in the world of music as Burna Boy, has detailed the reason behind his career switch from football to music.

The Rollercoaster crooner made this disclosure with British-Nigerian media personality, Julie Adenuga.

“I love football. I was good at playing football, but the wickedest thing was that I was good at goalkeeping. That is why I just stopped because [goalkeeping] was dead. I did not feel so important because I felt even without me the team would still be alright. I did not want to spend my life like that.” He said.

Burna Boy has released five studio albums since dropping his debut single ‘Like To Party’ in 2011. His fourth studio album ‘Twice As Tall’ became the first and only Nigerian album to win a Grammy Award in 2021.
