Heartbreaking news reaching nefgh.com has it that former president of Ghana and the founder of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Jerry John Rawlings is dead.
Jerry John Rawlings was a former Ghanaian military leader and subsequent politician who ruled the country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979. He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana.
It is unclear what caused his death, but reports say he was unwell and was at the intensive care unit at the hospital.
The late Jerry John Rawlings died at age 73.
